*** NEWS FLASH*** APPROXIMATELY
20 DACHSHUNDS WERE SURRENDERED FROM A PUPPY MILL TO MY FRIEND, KASIE AT DOXTAIL KENNELS. I, AND MANY OTHERS, ARE WORKING WITH
HER TO HELP FIND THESE GUYS NEW HOMES. THEY WERE JUST PICKED UP ON 12 MAY SO WE DO NOT HAVE PICTURES YET, BUT MALES AND FEMALES
WILL BE AVAILABLE IN SMOOTH/SHORT AND LONGHAIR COATS. I WILL BE POSTING UPDATES AS I GET THEM, AND WILL BE FOSTERING SOME
OF THEM MYSELF IF YOU ARE IN OUR AREA AND INTERESTED IN SEEING THEM. AS OF PICK UP, THE DOGS ARE CRITICALLY
UNDERWEIGHT, INFESTED WITH WORMS, ANEMIC FROM FLEAS AND TICKS, AND ARE REQUIRING MUCH VET CARE. THEY WILL BE READY FOR ADOPTION
AFTER THEY ARE VACCINATED, DEWORMED, AND TEMPERAMENT TESTED. ALL DOGS WILL ALSO BE ALTERED PRIOR TO GOING TO THEIR NEW HOMES.
THERE WILL BE A SMALL ADOPTION FEE OF THESE DOGS TO HELP COVER VET COSTS, FOOD, ETC SINCE SHE IS WORKING THROUGH THE SITUATION
ON A VOLUNTARY BASIS AND FROM HER OWN POCKETS. WE WILL HAVE PICTURES OF THEM ON THIS SITE SHORTLY, AFTER THEY HAVE HAD BATHS
AND SUCH, BUT PLEASE FEEL FREE TO CONTACT MYSELF OR KASIE IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN ONE OF THESE SPECIAL DOGS. I URGE
YOU TO PLEASE CONSIDER ONE OF THESE DOGS BEFORE A PUPPY. CLICK HERE TO SEE SOME INFO ABOUT THEM. Recent Change/Effective Immediately:
All pups sold as pets will not receive their registration paperwork until after I receive proof of alteration. Pups sold with
breeding/show rights will leave with their registration paperwork. Birth Announcement:
Gabby's Babies Have Arrived!
Welcome
to Kiyana's Haus!
We are a very
small breeder of wire, smooth, and long hair miniature dachshunds in Central Florida. For now, we only have three females
for breeding, but will be adding a few more later in this year. Our puppies only come in solid and dapple patterns. I
am the first generation of my family to choose the dachshund breed, but my whole family has shared the common love of German
breeds. I had wanted a dachshund for 14 years when my husband decided to buy me my first dachshund for my first Mother's
Day. As they say you can never have just one, we have gradually bought more and subjectively decided to pick up my family
tradition of responsible dog breeding.
As
of late 2007, we have decided to proceed with a 100% showing of our breeding smooth coat and wirehair dachshunds. We have
recently added a show results page to our web site, and will continue to formalize it later in the year as more of our guys
make it into the show ring. All of our show results will also be covered in our quarterly newsletter, and an occasional announcement
on our home page. Since only our smooth and wires will be showing in the ring, we have also decided to not further breed long
hair dachshunds after the retirement of the long hairs that are already a part of our breeding program.
All of our dogs are strictly raised in our house, and treated like a part of our family. They live
very active lifestyles with daily walks, soccer games with our family, and lots of fetching and tag. They have 24 hour access
to the outside so the games of tag never seem to end. We only feed our dogs Hill's Science Diet dog food. They are
pampered daily with filtered water (they will refuse tap water), lavender squirts in their beds, yummy toothpaste (they love
having their teeth brushed), and belly scratches. They are also pampered monthly with complete grooming including handstripping,
hair trims, oatmeal scrubs with tea tree oil, leg and back massages, and nail cutting. They truly do live their own little
lives of luxury.
My family before me has only bred AKC dogs. For my own personal reasons, I have
chosen to use Continental Kennel Club (CKC) as my main registry; however, AKC registration is available with any of our
puppies. While some will disagree with me, I do not see a club affiliation as a determining factor in the quality of
the dog; the breeder alone will produce a quality dog. We spend a lot of time looking at and meeting studs in advance
to perfectly match together a wonderful dog to join your family. We take pride in the puppies that we produce and sell.
I once told a breeder that our dogs just let us live here, and it's true! When you come to meet your new family
member, you will notice that the dogs have run of the house. If you find yourself like most, wondering how we came up with
the name Kiyana's Haus, here's the short version. Kiyo and Yana were our first two dachshunds. We married their names
together since the third letter in Kiyo's name is the same as the first in Yana's name. Haus was selected at the end
because the dachshund is a German breed, and haus is German for house. Hence, Kiyo and Yana's house.
You will
find that our flexibility and personalized service will be an enjoyable and memorable experience for you; we strive for each
puppy sale to be an experience from our whole family to yours, not just person to person. We like to see a relationship built
between where the puppy is born and where the puppy is going to live. We firmly believe that getting to know you
and your family will help us better prepare you and the puppy for the transition process. We openly listen to all of
your concerns such as a particular feeding schedule for an owner that may not work first shift, etc. We have even had
a puppy that was bought for a birthday gift, and we offered to be available during the night so that the parent could pick
up the puppy after the child went to sleep, and the puppy would be there in the morning when the child woke. If
you have a special circumstance or situation, tell us so that we can assist in any way possible.
Our
commitment to our new, extended families goes well beyond the completed sale of a puppy and includes a lifetime return policy
for the puppy if something should happen. Without saying any more, please feel free to browse my web site and contact me with
any questions you may have.
